About Me:

Education & Training

Hilder is a Co-Founding Director of Wak Mental Health Defenders. She is passionate about Human Rights and Social Justice. In 2016, Hilder joined Justice Defenders working in Ugandan prisons of all security levels for four years. Working in prisons was a fitting orientation to aspects of Human Rights and Social Justice that she is very passionate about. The prison community educated her to the point that she was able to touch others’ lives positively; something that birthed her support for the people living with psychosocial disability. She contributed to implementing several programs that benefited ten thousand plus inmates and live-in prison staff. The programs ranged from supporting the education, health, access to justice, and life skills sector of the Uganda prisons.

Moving on from Justice Defenders, Hilder worked with Women’s Situation Room as a Youth Coordinator in Northern Uganda during the general elections of 2021. And now, Hilder now works with Defenders Protection Initiative as a Programs Executive.

On her down time, Hilder enjoys traveling, brisk walking and jogging.
